Training of Jack Russell Terrier
Jack Russell requires basic training to adjust to the household
environment it is living in. There are certain basic tuitions which have
to be imparted to Jack Russell Terrier to make the behavior of the dog
more decent and make of the boss. Very importantly the Jack Russell
Terrier is a kind of dog that unless training is given in a proper and
appropriate manner then the dog will behave in such a way which will not
be conducive in domestic household. The control we exercise over the dog
will be fruitful only when training is programmed in such a perfect
manner to shape the various emotions of the dog. The relationship
between the owner and the dog improves as the training gives room for
interaction with the owner. There is nothing rewarding for them than to
complete the work assigned to them.
The training should start training immediately when you bring the puppy
home for the first time. The training is effective and enduring only
when you start the training the earliest Always be the dominant boss of
the household while giving training for play or behavior or else your
terrier will take command and behave as the head of your household and
do not let this happen. Always take care that your training is
consistent and similar and you should not change the reward for good
behaviors or punishment for mistakes in different environments. Always
use positive reinforcement techniques if possible, reward good behavior,
ignore bad. Give special attention to make the puppy socialize with
adults and children and also with other dogs in your household you
should always change your tone for different commands appropriately as
your voice is the most important tool that you have for training. Bed
manners should be taught and you should not allow crawl or snap at you
when they are to sleep in your bed. As it is a sign of their dominant
behavior if you are leave outside leaving your dog alone keep one of
your worn jumpers as the smell of you in the jumpers will comfort them.
A ticking clock and or a warm hot water bottle in their bed will also
comfort them as it is said to simulate the heartbeat of their mother.
You should not allow two or more Jack Russell Terrier dogs together when
nobody there to offer leadership and to give command as it will create
competition between them as to who will be the leader. Do not forget to
train a Jack Russell Terrier dog to soil and urinate in the same small
area. A specific area in your household or outside should be allocated
for them to relieve themselves. Always do not let them feel free when
they accidentally soil your household which is bound to happen when they
are left free. When you catch doing this put him outside with a loud
command. Always remember that a dog learns by association and he should
be made uncomfortable when he is caught doing something wrong. The
punishment given should be immediate and as soon as it is caught doing
something wrong and only then he will remember and correct him. Make
sure that you do not let them in high state of anxiety which happens
when he is away from the master for long which happened\s during the
night and when you are away from home. To relieve their tension in your
absence it may create scene which may be construed as bad. Always
remember that he is not misbehaving and only and are expecting the love
and affection of the master to be always with them. Do remember that
their dependence on you is so great.
